The Under 16 Boys team is expected to play with greater speed and intensity, as well as taking more accountability for their performance. Overall, they should begin to develop greater confidence in their physical ability as well as their understanding of team basketball.
For those not who are not quite ready for National League, we also compete in the Surrey Basketball Association Under 16 league which plays at least two Sundays a month at Richard Challoner School. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to play competitively and gain the playing experience they need to improve as players.
Training sessions will focus more on the following:
- Problem solving within their team play (offence & defence)
- Playing a variety zone and man-to-man defence (including pressure full-court, 3/4 court and half-court)
- Quality of their offensive execution in half-court and full-court situations
Team training sessions are Tuesdays 8:30 pm – 10:00pm and Wednesdays from 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
The U16 Programme is managed by Stephen Krajewski and Michael Nyarko.
