Kingston Wildcats School of Basketball was established in 1994, as the junior/development arm of the Kingston Wildcats Men’s team. Originally, the club had an under 18s team consisting of 12 players, which competed in the Surrey League. Over time the club has expanded to over 100 club members running programs for under 10s through to under 16s and has been able to achieved 3 star clubmark accreditation through Basketball England & Sport England.
We are a non-profit organisation and as such, our programmes are run by volunteer coaches and parents who willingly give up their time to conduct training sessions, organise competitive fixtures and coach games.
Driven by the need to emphasise the importance of hard work, determination, passion and commitment/ambition that will allow them to be successful in life. Through the guidance of coaches and volunteers within the club, we have managed to create an environment that helps our players to overcome barriers to achieve.
Their efforts have helped the club become one of the more successful national league clubs in Surrey, often reaching the playoffs in at least one of our age groups, as well as having many players regularly being selected to represent either Surrey or the South East England regional programs (the latter being the pathway into the England national squad).
